Comments Thread For: Collazo: Amir Khan First, Then Mayweather at Barclays

BROOKLYN, NY - Its no secret that Brooklyn native and current WBA International Welterweight Champion Luis Collazo is hoping to land a shot at facing pound-for-pound king Floyd "Money" Mayweather and on his quest he has received the support of Brett Yormark, CEO of Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. Yormark called a possible Mayweather vs. Collazo bout a "Dream Fight" for Barclays Center.

"How great would it be for Brooklyn if the favorite son of Brooklyn fights this legendary fighter Floyd Mayweather? I think that goes down as, in many respects, the rational for what we want to do here," Yormark told Mitch Abramson of Boxing Scene.

If Collazo thinks he is going to fight Floyd at all he surely is dreaming. I don't see him as a pick anyone would agree with. You would think Mayweather-Khan was bad enough. I'm being realistic here.

I'm happy Luis has put himself in position to get a fight vs a top welterweight. Remember being in BK for when he blasted Ortiz with that right hook like it was yesterday.

Sounds like Collazo has secured the Khan fight?

Geez, I guess it doesn't matter who you are. If you are in the 147 lb division and you won your last fight, all of a sudden you have a chance to fight mayweather. Lets calm down folks

Ummmm...that's because the fight was so recent. Cliches like that should be saved for something older

Very winnable fight for Khan, more winnable than the Alexander fight imo. Collazo is a boxer, doesn't have fast hands either and he's well past his prime. Khan simply needs to not get caught up in exchanges which lets admit will eventually happen.
