I was always under the impression that Mayweather had a side deal with the casinos paying him tens of millions to have his fights there. (-no facts on this statement-)
That on top of his boxing pay. Plus he probably got a lifetime suite and many perks to boot.

NY while an attractive location in name, is bogged down with taxes, unions, and bull**** red tape. If Mayweather had a fight there every local celeb and politician would want to get involved and get a piece.
