I was a a huge fan of Maidana after the Broner fight, and when I saw there was a video I did not believe it at first. After watching the video I am now convinced that there were smelling salts in that napkin. In answer to your question, I believe that Maidana is a cheater and would not be surprised if he were on PEDs.

Years ago when I was working in a factory, we raided the medicine cabinet for smelling salts, would crack one open and stick it in front of someones face when they were unaware. They would react like in the video. The smell didn't go far, you could be standing right in front of them with it in your hand and they would not smell it from any sort of distance. Later during a heat wave, we had to use them for real on a couple of people who passed out from the heat. Same reaction as Maidana.

It's possible any fighter in the world who is not tested year round could be on steroids or peds. As for his power, huge punchers have been in boxing long before peds and seriods were here. Some guys have natural power and natural power combined with practice and proper punching technique make a very hard puncher without questionable help from steroids and peds.

This is true and they replayed it several times. Some people are sure about half of the best fighters are on peds and they don't require on ounce of proof. They see steroids behind every bush and tree. They go by gut feelings and gut feelings are very unreliable,
