Comments Thread For: Juanma Eyes Jorge Arce Bout, Orlando Salido Trilogy

Former super bantamweight/featherweight champion Juan Manuel "Juanma" Lopez (34-3, 31KOs) is evaluating his options after stopping Daniel Ponce De Leon in two rounds this past Saturday in Bayamon.

If Juanma had a choice, he would like to fight former four division champion Jorge Arce (63-7-2, 48KOs) of Mexico. Arce returned to boxing in 2013 and vowed to win another championship. He also called out Juanma in several recent interviews.

Please no trilogy!! Usually trilogy are for competitive fights not total domination!

Juanma and Arce are evenly matched at this point. It could be an entertaining fight.

salido, just as I thought he might bring it up,why not? but arce at 130? nah,he's too little,i think juanma needs one more easy fight at 130 before he faces salido, maybe salido can get in another fight too,and if he beats salido I wonder if he'll be calling out mikey for a rematch? don't think so,but I would like to see him become champ again

I'm always amazed at Arce's ability to get his name in these big fights. This is a guy who has been done as a top fighter since 2009. Since then all of his victories have been against d level opposition. I don't think Juanma is d level just yet.

Stay as far away as possible from Salido.

As for Arce, let him stick to fighting street corner snow cone vendors in Mexico. But hey, Juanma wants to pummel a career jr. flyweight. To each his own.

Salido is too durable, he took everything Juanma had, all night, twice. Juanma got tired throwing at him, as compared to PDL. PDL wilted as soon as he was touched, twice. Arce? Too small, smaller than PDL. It might sell in New York on Puerto Rican pride day, but not really a fair matchup at 130.
