I have always thought that the best way to beat Floyd is for a puncher to throw a lot of power punches per round and hope that if 5 land, they land flush.

Is Maidana going to get countered? Absolutely. The question is how prepared is he to take those punches and how long will his chin hold out?
Also he better have Ariza give him the best strength training of his life because not only will he have to have the stamina to throw 100 punches per round, but the stamina to take punishment from counters while throwing 100 punches.

If throwing a **** load of punches isnt the right gameplan for maidana then someone please tell me what is? You think just standing there trying to outbox/outsmart floyd and let floyd get off first is a smarter decision? LOL c'mon. Garcia has the right gameplan throw punches and get dirty, I believe this was ortiz' gameplan as well but he wasnt mentally tough enough to carry it out.

Gone are the days when Floyd stopped some of his opponents. He would be very careful trying to stop Maidana in exchanges or he could end up like Broner. Maidana should throw 100+ in the last 6 rnds not early.

true, but i think most people find it hard to believe maidana can keep that pace. he'll be missing more and has had questions on his stamina. but yea i agree with u... his only shot is throw volume. hes by no means a speed or technical fighter

            Agree 100%.
We know Chino isn't going to outbox Mayweather so the best thing to do is swarm him with as many power punches as possible in hopes a few can land flush and hurt Mayweather.
The strategy might not work, but then again boxing him won't either.

To goal should not be throwing excess punches at Floyd, the goal should be forcing Floyd into a fight he doesn't want which involves pushing the pace but it has to be done in a way that takes Floyd out of his element.

Maidana needs to be aggressive because that is what he does best but he can't be reckless because that is playing into Floyd's hands, it is a delicate balance between not enough and too much he needs to hit that perfect band between them to maximize his chances.

Yes,like what Maidana did to Broner.Don't get me wrong.Floyd is no Broner but punch volume is the only way one would have a slim chance(better than none)of actually beating Floyd by split decision just like how Castillo "unofficially" beat Floyd in early 2000.

I don't think Maidana has the boxing skills to force Floyd into a fight he doesn't want.
I believe Maidana should approach the fight with reckless abandonment. Go in throwing as many punches as you can, from as many angles as you can, in hopes that your power punches hurt him. If you get hurt or KO'd in the process, then **** it. You gave it your best, and you weren't going to win a points contest over Mayweather anyway.

Plus it's not as if he loses he goes back to the drawing board. He has a Broner rematch pretty much assured.
