    Canelo couldnt put angulo down.

I think canelo power is questional. He could not floor angulo I no angulo is tuff but kirkland put him down so that makes me wonder who would win a toe to toe battle canelo vs kirland my money is on kirkand as long as wolf is in his corner what do you think?

    I agree.

Most of Canelo's claim to power come from beating down much smaller men.
Im sure If Paulie fought 135 fighters he might get some stoppages as well.

Joseito Lopez, Shane Mosley old and not naturally 154.
    Matthew Hatton.

I'd say he has good power, but nothing like it was marketed.

Kirkland to me doesn't have the chin to withstand Canelo's combination punching. I think Angulo getting dropped was a process of him punching himself out and getting broken down.

Angulo said during the fight his punches were bothering him, and he was the first man to put Trout down in the pros. He has good power but not ko power. He has more than enough pop to keep people honest though.

Kirkland although relentless is easy to hit and very fragile in the early rounds. From what we've seen Canelo can take a better punch so I think if Canelo can get to him early on he could possibly get the ko. If he doesn't it's a dog fight and unless Canelo tires from the pressure he wins a decision.

Canelo has better defensive skills than Kirkland. It's a good match-up but unfortunately Kirkland sued GBP so the fight will never happen.

angulo punched him self out on that fight, kirkland doesnt have good defense and is easy to hit and takes a lot of punishment, he doesnt have a great chin like angulo so i dont expect him to last 10 rounds like angulo did, but no doubt the fight will be a good scrap...

If Kirkland makes it out the 2nd round, he will be too much for Canelo.

Sometimes the best defense is a great offense; which is what I think Kirk brings to the table.

Don't get me wrong, Canelo proved a lot to me against Angulo

well lara knocked down trout and made angulo quit with a single straight left...but no one talks about lara being a monster puncher...

truth is canelo was hitting angulo FLUSH for 10 rounds straight but could never come close to knocking down angulo....hell he couldn't even knock down a smaller and past prime mosley whereas a 150lb pac was able to do it in one punch...

kirkland is the biggest puncher at 154.....he may not have the best chin but there is no doubt he is the much stronger puncher...better stoppage %...and stopped a prime angulo in 6 rounds...

Canelo definatly has the skills to beat him, but he would have to change his style a lot to win that fight. I dont think its a question of can canelo beat him, its a question of would he adapt to Kirklands style.
