Yeah, 130 isn't exactly the deepest of divisions. Except Papi Salido is there now haha so who knows what Juanma will do.

My question is, Who has a better punch? Juanma or Verdejo?

That's the point. He is still the same as he was, or at least closer than we all thought. Either that, or Ponce is simply even more shot than him.

That said, I agree that he shouldn't go anywhere near the top dogs. An all-PR showdown with Vazquez jr. or Martinez wouldn't be bad though.

Lol if Gamboa picked on Juanma as he is right now as others have done just to look good beating on that drum who we all know is done, it would be very disappointing to me,and would take away some of my support for Gamboa for doing such a pussy move. That being said he does need to stay active instead of just pushing and holding off for big fights, but anyone else who is not a piñata that would be great .

A win is a win…but I wouldn't act as if taking an extra round to beat a guy you beat easily in the first round years ago as a major statement. Especially when you were knocked down yourself.

It was only made as a confidence builder and to gauge how much he has left.

Come on now.... Let's give Juanma a little credit.

crazy, crazy fight. it's too bad it wasn't on the main broadcast, and that it got overshadowed by the garcia decision and the possible dive in the wilder fight.

i thought ponce and juanma was a great fight. they should think about a rematch. it will be fun again. neither of them are the type of guy i want to see contending for world titles any longer.

a rematch would be better than becoming a stepping stone.

i realize that these two will be offered fights as stepping stones, and probably more money, but i want a rematch purely for my selfish enjoyment. that was a fun, f#cking fight.

JuanMa certainly proved me wrong. But what did he really prove? I was actually afraid this might happen. Like all former champions, Lopez thinks he still has more in the tank than he really does. Maybe if he steps up against top opposition, reality might finally set in.

Before the devastating right hook, it seemed like it was going to be an early night for Juanma.

I'll admit, I was wrong. Thought this time around Ponce was going to KO Juanma. But Juanma hung tough and got the KO.

Good for him, lets just hope he's matched well for his next fights. I always liked the kid.
