First off this is no hit on Mayweather. He did his job that night and did it well. This is about Canelo and his future.

1) What do you think about Canelo not being able to make 154 just 5 month later after having t0 go to 152 for Mayweather?

2) Canelo was clearly an inexperienced fighter at that level. He had all of one tough fight leading up to the best fighter in the world.

It's going to be interesting to see what weight he fights at next. Will he try to get the winner of Martinez vs Cotto?

He's going to have to head into 160 after at least 2 fights or so. He clearly cannot make the weight and it arguably has an effect on his performance. Most likely he will face the winner of that bout as there is a hefty pay check involved.

Maybe he has trouble making 154 now, but that is no excuse for him being so trigger shy during the fight.

Maybe Floyd's punches were stinging him and was on the defensive for that reason. He did get chin checked by Jose Cotto pretty good, and chin's don't improve they get worse. He has a very bright future, but he needs to either fight the winner of Martinez/Cotto, or Lara, bottom line.
