Comments Thread For: Kell Brook: I'm Taking That IBF World Title, No Doubt

Kell Brook came through his world title warm-up with a polished, if unspectacular, eighth-round stoppage of courageous Mexican Alvaro Robles at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.

Brook is now the mandatory challenger for the IBF welterweight title and will face the winner of Shawn Porter-Paulie Malignaggi in the summer after avoiding a potential banana skin on Saturday.

The unbeaten Sheffield fighter extended his record to 32-0 and recorded his 22nd win inside the distance after Robles' corner stopped the fight midway through the eighth round, with the underdog shipping far too much punishment.

Brook was magic last night. He's beating the winner of Porter-Maliganggi. The only two guys that beat him at WW are Pac and May.

seems like proper training and nutrition has improved brook's performances.

dude can punch, and obviously, we need that in boxing.

sometimes he kinds of forgets to defend, which he will have to learn to do.

I dont think so. Its not like his defence is good the majority of the time and then he stops concentrating and gets caught. He is always there to be hit nearly every time he is in range. He will lose a lot of rounds from the top guys because they will find his chin over and over imo.

Its just always there to be hit. Cant believe such an experienced corner has let it go on for so long.

The best thing about him is his jab. It is a thing of beauty. It will cause anyone problems - it is Cotto-esque.

Can't believe he has managed to get 32-0 to whilst being backed by powerful promoters for the bulk of his career without getting (actually fighting) a title shot. I know he has been unlucky but there is something wrong there. He has never pulled out of a fight with an overmatched opponent once.

Brook needs to have another 'warm-up' or a 'final eliminator' before fighting for the title lol

Brook will be an interesting addition to the title scene at WW. He's looked impressive of late. Really wana see him spank Khan though. That would be a good coming out party for him and would get his name plenty more recognition. More than he will get for even fighting and beating Mags or Porter. Khan's name (much like his mouth) is simply just that big.

He said he could only get it up for "elite" fighters. Who was that? Carson Jones II?
