How did you score Garcia vs Herrera?

im a huge garcia fan.. been to 3 of his fights

but i have to say, honestly judging the fight i had it 8-4 for herrera. sometimes i wonder what schooling these judges go through to score/officiate a fight properly. the sport of boxings funny sometimes

reminds me of the gift bradley got over pac is the gift danny got over herrera bc their undefeated.. smh wild

I had it a draw.

I think a lot of close rounds..it's human nature to give it to the underdog. That's what I think most people did. 115-113, 113-115, 114-114 would be okay with me. Close fight all around.

As another poster said, I gave the closest rounds to Garcia. I try to fall things like I see them. I completely expected Garcia to win but thought Herrera would put up a good fight. He did more than that - he won.

I don't think it was a hard fight to score. Maybe sitting ringside and being influenced by crowd noise and not being able to see Herrera slipping and blocking a lot of Garcia's shots.

It was a competitive fight but Danny did not win 7 rounds, let alone 8. I have no horse in this race. The wrong guy got the "win".

He held a lot more than slipping and blocking. It was damn near Molina level. I hate styles like that, I love seeing them lose. All they do is hold and jab, it's a ****** style, only effective in putting fans to sleep and annoying the other fighter(not even beating them).

The best head snapping punches of the fight were landed by Herrera. Garcia's power punches in general did have more power, but they rarely landed, and most of them were not clean.

There were so many replays that were meant to showcase Gacia's punches, but most of them just showed Herrera blocking and even countering them.

Similar thing happened in Canelo-Trout, Trout threw 400 jabs, but they landed similar amount of power punches, with Canelo landing more accurately. People felt that because Trout landed so many jabs, he was robbed and should have won.

They choose when jabs>power punches I guess.

Judah outlanded Matthysse 87 to 15 jabs, but Matthysse outlanded him 147 to 63 power punches..."Matthysse got robbed" "All Judah did was land jabs".

But hey, IDK, it is what it is. They choose when jabs is greater than power punches and when power punches is greater than jabs. In this case they feel jabs is greater than power punches. It happens very often when it is a big name fighter vs an underdog.

They're not similar fights.

Canelo was affecting Trout with clean, clear power punches. Garcia wasn't landing with anywhere near the same authority and power that Canelo was. Trout was also hurt and dropped. Herrera wasn't.

Same with the Judah fight. Judah got hit with some big shots, and came on late after clearly losing many of the early rounds.

Herrera won most of the fight, didn't get hit with many big shots at all, slipped and blocked most power shots and controlled the pace, action and landed more shots. The only guy that ever looked hurt was Garcia in round 8 (from memory) and round 12 apart from that brief spell in round 9 or 10 for Garcia.
