Comments Thread For: Santa Cruz: Me and Frampton Could Be Fight of The Year!

World champion Leo Santa Cruz has now adjusted his glare towards rising star Carl Frampton after prevailing in his recent fight. The Mexican sensation who has been blasting his way past all comers in the super-bantamweight division, dominated Cristian Mijares last Saturday night in Las Vegas and now looks to set up a megafight with Ulsterman Frampton.

Both men are renowned for their come-forward, whirlwind boxing style that has captured the imagination of both casual and hardcore fans alike.

Very good fight hope it's not in England maybe somewhere neutral but exactly where i have no idea. Just hope they make this fight and the winner gets Rigo who beats both fighters.

He keeps calling Frampton out, but I bet he doesn't fight him.

I can bet you right now that Carl Frampton will not fight on the front foot and he most certainly wont play to Leo Santa Cruz advantages!

I see this being a very technical battle with Frampton looking to pot-shot him and counter him all night long and I think that is exactly the type of gameplan that will absolutely frustrate Leo Santa Cruz and be the one that beats him, its what Rigondeaux would do to him.
Saying all of that though its not like Leo has the most fericious one punch devestating stopping power to KO anyone so I could be wrong.

Why would it be in England?

0 chance it's on the Froch UC. That fight is on HBO and Leo is with Sho. Frampton is with Boxnation so he wouldn't be fighting on Sky.

This fight is Kiko Martinez all over again is it not? Frampton was under a lot of pressure but he was able to outmaneuver Kiko and get the KO. Good fight though. Kiko could have won it. If Frampton could beat Santa maybe he could get the respect he deserves in the States.

Haha turned up expecting racostaa tears, didn't leave disappointed. I think its time to get over that these 2 will be fighting, especially when your boy is still under Top Rank control for the time being.

If you want to post more constructively, think who Rigo can fight on the last fight of his contract, and once he's got that out the way then try and get a fight with the winner out of the reach of Uncle Bob. Moving up to Featherweight would give him quite a few potential opponents.
