That's been my position up to now. I like the *idea* of open scoring but ultimately what counts is competent, honest judging. But even with that judging can be all over the map depending on what the judge values as more important.

No doubt, it all comes down to the scoring. Boxing has the worst officiating of any sport I'm aware of -- from the judging to the reffing. There isn't the kind of training and accountability of other sports. In baseball, you don't become a big league umpire unless you're pretty reliable. And it gets even more stringent when the postseason rolls around. Only the very best officials are selected for those games. In boxing, you've got people like CJ Ross judging a Pacquiao contest. SMH
