ATG Ranking is based solely on what happens in the ring?
Or does what you do outside the ring have a bearing. e.g. Ali in a positive way or tyson in a negative way.

why is Ali ranked so high? number 1 on many people's list because of just resume and ability?

Well yea. ATG boxers are deemed to be so because of their great performances in the ring. Everything else they do outside the ring (good or bad) is superfluous.

No matter what you do if you're famous, you will be revered and reviled simultaneously. But it's when we separate the art from the artist that we can truly see and appreciate the real legacy left by the real ATGs. A chef should be judged on his/her cooking. A boxer should be judged on his boxing. And so on.
