Martinez is using the injury story to make this seem close and sell the fight. Reality will hit Cotto and all of his fans when the first bell sounds.

Don't forget what Martinez did to Paul Williams. We're all about to see why Pacquiao and Mayweather don't venture up to 160 and never will.
He was like 167 for the Chavez fight and around 170 for the Murray fight. It's that 73" reach, speed and power that will give Cotto fits.

Size, built, strength and speed are going against Cotto. This is suicide for Cotto. Hope this doesn't happen. I don't want him fuvked up bad. His one of the good guys in boxing.

That's why all that diva stuff and crap talking he has been doing wasn't such a good idea because you know Sergio is going to come out trying to make a statement in this fight. He might not even get a chance to show compassion to Cotto before the fight gets stopped by Roach though. I can see a towel stoppage in rounds 4-6 honestly.

Martinez is usually 165-168 pounds on fight night

          166 vs Williams I
          167 vs Pavlik
          168 vs Williams II
          165 vs Barker
          167 vs Chavez jr

This is a freak show. This shouldn't be made in the first place.

Cotto would be lucky to see the final bell against the disinterested Martinez who fought Macklin and Barker. If he fights the motivated Martinez who fought Chavez Jr...Martinez put a real beating on Chavez and could do the same to Cotto. Difference is, no way Cotto takes the punches as well as Chavez Jr.

This is the fight Martinez was praying for. A very high paying fight against a smaller man who has very little chance of winning. I wish they had not made this fight for so far off in the future. Now BS will be full of threads about this fight for months. Cotto did absolutely nothing to deserve a fight with the middleweight champion unless losing two fights in a row at 154 makes you a top middleweight. If by some miracle Cotto wins then a middleweight title fight between catch weight kings Cotto and Mayweather is almost certainly next with no catch weight. GGG will have to wait another year or more before the so called lineal middleweight champ might actually fight him.

Martinez has chicken legs though. Top heavy.
