So I started training legit today after being disabled for around 5 years. I did hang around/train causally in a gym when I was 13 but anything I learned there is long gone.
I was wondering how some of you felt when you first started.
When we were jumping rope I couldn't go 1 min without the things hitting my feet. I've never done this before and there was no instruction. It was a bit embarrassing since it was only happening to me. The other thing was working the mitts. For some reason I kept getting my hands mixed up when he called them out. He'd say right, left, hook, and I'd throw a left first without thinking. I know how to throw a punch and do combinations but felt it was a bit strange there was no instruction. Since it was a group session I guess that was understandable but I expected a few pointers. I know a thing or two about boxing (jab, hook, cross) but I kind of wonder how someone who knows very little and just wanders in for fitness might handle it.
