The tension is rising between WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (51-2-2-, 28KOs) and Miguel Cotto (38-4, 21KOs). They will battle on June 7th at New York's Madison Square Garden.

In several recent interviews, Martinez has openly complained about Cotto's numerous demands during their drawn-out negotiations. Among them, Cotto demanded a catch-weight of 159-pounds, first billing in the promotion, for Martinez to be situated in the challenger's corner, and for Martinez to have the first ring walk.

It's the truth. He could have let Sergio come in 2nd or be announced 2nd but I think Sergio pissed Cotto off with the bull***** about being rejected at some taping or whatever. Cotto's def spiteful about that stuff.

im ok with the billing and ring walks in cotto's favor. but im very traditional and feel the champion should be announced last.

with that said...going into a fight, i could care less which order those things are. im gonna punch you in the face either way. sergio shouldnt care either. he's either gonna fight or not, and most likely get paid the same. because he is the "b-side".

most guys will be the b-side fighting may/pac/cotto or any other cash cow. just makes the victory that much sweeter to crush the guy everyone came to root for
