  • Comments Thread For: Groves' Trainer Says Froch's Shove Proves Mental Dip

George Groves' trainer feels his fighter still has a mental edge over Carl Froch as they ready themselves for a rematch.

The bitter rivals continued their war of words at the opening press conference ahead of their second fight at Wembley, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

A feud which has simmered since the explosive first clash threatened to boil over when Froch shoved Groves as they went face-to-face on the pitch.

Froch is too experienced and too badass in general to let this fuss affect him too much.

I thought that until the build up to the last fight

Groves seems to get to froch more than any of his previous foes

Paddy Fitz is a great addition to the scene. He's like an Irish ****m Richardson.

Froch don't seem to like it when you don't take him seriously and respect his warrior image. Groves seems to be really annoying him.

I hope Froch finds a way to win but i don't think he will, he can't really adapt, all he can do is try to be even more aggressive but that may lead to him walking into a right hand counter. I think the problem is that Groves beats Froch at range and Froch dosen't really have a good inside game. Only chance is overwhelm Groves like he was one the way to doing in the first fight but it's a risky strategy.

what a mental dip is having your instinct be to look for help when a grown man shoves you. im so convinced froch wins , im willing to do sig bet, ill give you 2 to 1 on the length of time too

Groves looked pretty rattled by it tbh.

That's true. Froch dislikes him for sure. Usually this reaction would be a defense mechanism if he feels threatened and fears defeat -- I just think Froch is too thick skinned in the end to let it affect the actual fight.

So what if Froch shoved him, Groves' disrespectful behavior is a little out of line. He probably has bad breath and a rotten mouth hygiene too.

"hopefully we'll do a third fight"
Strange comment to say the least, is he expecting his man to lose. Surely if froch beats groves again he'll look to put him behind him.
