Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez: Roach Won't Help, I'll Knock Cotto Out

WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 28KOs) is confident he will prevail on June 7th, when he defends his belt against former three division world champion Miguel Cotto (38-4, 31KOs) at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

After losing back to back fights to Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Austin Trout in 2012, Cotto hired the services of Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach and returned last year with an easy knockout win over Delvin Rodriguez.

Roach won't help Cotto if he has him fight aggressively. That will hurt Cotto.

It will be sad to see but this is exactly what is going to happen. Very bad match up for Cotto. I would be shocked that he is still around after the 3rd round.

I think Cotto might last a little longer. He's never been put down for a ten count. But once he tastes Martinez's power, it's over.

How about u ko a champion in ur weight class, not someone who is not even a champion in his weight class. Maravilla should vacate that title, he not fighting to see who is the best middleweight. All about the money.
