I don't care if a fighter is unbeaten...it's who he fights not some padded record. Thoughts?

I think casuals are fooled by these records yet us hardcore fans know whats up when it comes to resume.

If you've faced real challenges, not paper "champs" or "prime, young lions" and still have an 0 then yes i care. otherwise its meaningless.

This thread is made in relation to which fighter?

If a fighter is undefeated and their resume have world level competition then yes it matters.

Only if you didn't duck any fighters, then yes.

If you fought the toughest and still came out undefeated, that is impressive.

              See my sig.

I think we all would like to believe we're watching something great, something that can't be beaten but the reality there are no superhumans out there and most unbeaten records are a consequence of clever match-making, avoiding strongest opponents and favourable reffing/judging in tough spots.

If a fighter has fought the best opposition available and avoided no-one then, yes, being undefeated is significant. If you've avoided people along the way it is totally insignificant.

After all, I could say I'm undefeated at tennis, having fought no one but the grannies at my local tennis club. It only matters if I'm undefeated against Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic.

All it means is they avoided fighters who posed threats or fought them when they were old has beens. Floyd Mayweather beating Mosley and Delahoya is Like Leon Spinks beating Muhammad Ali

oh yeah, as long as the name baldomir is one of the fighters you pot-shoted for 12 boring rounds.
