Because it's one of the most cringe worthy, awkard bits I've seen on television.
HBO needs to scrap "face off"

Yup. I hate it. I don't even watch it haha fake animosity is the worst, and boxers aren't the best actors. It's just all bad.Comment

Yeah can't make it like WWE with a storyline and drama, these guys just fight over guys for paydays and don't even know each other personally if they have ever met before pressers and the fight was made.Comment

Completely disagree. However, I do believe they need to carefully select what fighters to do it for though. The Cotto-Margarito II was amazing, same thing with the Provodnikov-Alvarado one, Chavez Jr-Martinez, etc. They need to do it for fighters who don't like each other or fight to chop their opponents heads off. It adds to the emotion and excitement of the fight.Comment

I personally don't mind it, and your suggestion is short-sighted. When they make their decisions they aren't thinking about you as an individual, they are thinking about the wider audience, and to that end they are doing a good job because the face off gives the fight exposure and makes fans invest more emotionally.Comment

Face Off, 24/7, FIGHT GAME, Jim Lampley as the Play by Play guy among other things...
24/7 sucks because lets be honest, boxers 99% of them lack personality, many of them can't speak English. All their stories are the same or at least that is how HBO Present it that wayLast edited by sicko; 03-09-2014, 05:38 PM.Comment

What makes it cringed worthy is the man in the middle having something going on on his lips like he just came from scking someone in the backstage
They should change the guyComment
