What factor was most responsible for Alvarez's victory last night?

Angulo hasn't been the same since the Kirkland fight.People view boxing as though it is a computer simulation where human emotions are not accounted for. Getting pounced on from the opening bell, beaten to the punch on every occasion and hit with whatever the opponent sees fit will hurt and it will diminish your output.
Canelo did a great job of hurting his opponent and, of equal importance, preventing him from gaining balance. I don't think Angulo diminished as a fighter; people simply witnessed what happens when you put fighters in a different class in the ring with one another.
He gave Lara a tough fight but so did Carlos Molina.

Canelo is a damn good fighter and I had no doubt he would win every round and stop Angulo. Angulo threw almost 100 punches a round according to the punch counters. A shot fighter or a fighter taking a dive will not throw 790 punches in just over 9 rounds. Canelo won so easily because of his fast accurate combos to the head and body and his good defense. Angulo gave Lara pure hell but he could not do **** to Canelo.Comment

The loss to Mayweather has turned up the vitriol. Frankly, the better he does post-Mayweather only serves to make Floyd's win look better, and god knows people don't want that. I think there's also some residual anger as to his actual performance against Floyd too - he was maybe the last hope to beat Floyd and he froze.
Some of the other reasons I can understand/accept more - such as he is undoubtedly babied by GBP and gets a lot of preferential treatment - ie, winning a title at a catchweight against Matthew Hatton, missing weight against Perro, etc.
But the hate he gets is kinda ridiculous. I like that boxing is the kind of sport where we don't just simply accept a hype-job getting forced onto us.
But the flip-side is, everyone in and around the sport just seems to be permanently angry at someone or something.Comment

canelo looked great last night. canelo's punches took a lot out of the dog, the reason why angulo threw so many arm punches and was so sluggish.
i thought the stoppage was a little premature though. that being said, angulo would've just been oupointed til the end had the ref not stopped the fight.Comment

I can absolutely see the latter parts being true regarding his preferential treatment being a superstar and whatnot, but we all know that's just something that comes along with stardom in this sport. This is a sport that is severely lacking in superstars, and it's just confusing to me that people want to see this kid fail so badly.
Floyd's not going to be around much longer. Every generation needs that one fighter who will be the face of the sport for the general public (Louis, Ali, Tyson, De La Hoya, Mayweather, etc...) and right now, Alvarez is the closest thing we have to "that guy" for the next generation.
I can only imagine what this place will look like if he beats Lara like I expect him to.Comment
