LAS VEGAS – Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez scored a 10th round technical knockout victory over Alfredo “El Perro” Angulo in front of 14,610 fans at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in the main event of Saturday’s “TOE TO TOE: CANELO vs. ANGULO” on SHOWTIME PPV. Canelo (43-1-1, 31 KOs) landed a vicious left uppercut that rocked “El Perro’s” head back at 0:47 of the 10th round. Sensing Angulo was taking too much punishment, referee Tony Weeks stepped in and halted the exciting battle.

I predicted an early tko by Alvarez, solid fight though. Much respect to both.

Angulo was awful last night. Embarrassing stuff by Perro, it's like he wasnt even trying. He might be done as a high level boxer, not one good round by Alfredo.

Look at the disbelief on Alvarez's face.

Top level fighter? Truth is, this dude was never a top level fighter. Lost every time he stepped up. GBP tried to force feed us that he was a top level fighter throughout the yrs because of his fan friendly style but dude was never that good. Nothing wrong with being a solid B level fighter though

Hopefully he can take a break from boxing and consider doing something else. Them flush hard punches he takes literally in every fight in every round must be doing something to his brain and to his body. He seems to be also getting slower and slower in every fight.
