I still believe Lara needs a fight or two before he steps up to Alvarez's level, it wasn't long ago before he was battered by a very slow Angulo, just before Angulo was stopped....or asked for the stoppage. Horrendous performances against the likes of Molina still stick in the mind.

Props to Lara for asserting himself and asking for the fight publicly, but he could've done it in a much classier manner. That post-fight presser was Canelo's moment. Lara should've done this elsewhere.
I don't think Canelo came across as "shook", either. Nor do I think Lara was "embarrassed."
Obviously, Canelo is fighting the Cotto/Martinez winner. That's a much bigger fight for a much bigger audience with much bigger bank accounts at play. Lara's no fool, he knows this is as much a sport as it is a business. He'll get his shot after the Cotto/Martinez winner. Until then his only job is to keep calm and keep winning.

It's all good though. We all know Canelo and GBP don't have the balls to give Lara a chance.
If he doesn't bring a Championship belt to the table, and he hasn't positioned himself as a mandatory, why would anybody fight a foul-mouthed Cuban who admittedly isn't easy to look good against. Even in victory Vs Lara, you lose points with the fans for stinking out the joint.
