Comments Thread For: Leo Santa Cruz Dominates Cristian Mijares Over Twelve

MGM Grand, Las Vegas - WBC super bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz (27-1, 15KOs) landed everything but the kitchen sink on mandatory challenger Cristian Mijares (49-7-2, 24KOs) to win a twelve round unanimous decision. The scores were 119-109, 120-108, 120-108.

Santa Cruz was controlling the action with ease in the first three rounds. In the fourth, a clash of heads opened up a cut above the right eye of Santa Cruz. The sight of blood boosted Mijares' courage and he tried to fight, toe to toe, with Santa Cruz. He was hurt bad to the body for his trouble, but battled back to the bell.

Sounds like a great fight, i figured. Really though Mijares was going to put up more of a challenge sounds like he slugged too much. Santa Cruz sounds like the real deal.

It wasn't that entertained. Had Max Kellerman being the interviewer Leo would had been in an uncomfotable situation, just like Nonito was when asked about Rigondeaux.

How do you expect Santa Cruz to be interviewed by Kellerman when HBO has Golden Boy fighters black listed? And after Rigo sent their ratings tanking, they don't seem to eager about having him on their air either.

                    Hunh?

This writer says, Mijares was "taking a beating", then says he was taking most of the blows on his gloves and running around the ring, WTFK????
