I'm not even sure it was fresh when he first bought it out. He has no natural wit, and can't take the piss out of himself or any situation

Yes, he lacks any self-deprecating humor. Hopkins for example once got asked what has changed physically now that he is in his 40's. And he answered that his penis isn't working as it used to. This is something that works once you have that veteran status. Floyd is still a 20 year old version of himself.
