MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Ann Wolfe, trainer of James Kirkland, gives Alfredo Angulo a very good shot to pull off an upset later tonight, when he faces former WBA/WBA 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in the main event of a Showtime Pay-Per-View event. In 2011, Kirkland was dropped in the first round of his fireworks fight with Angulo. He came back to drop Angulo at the end of the same round and eventually stopped him in the sixth.

shes right canelo has never fought a pure pressure fighter and with smart pressure and listening to his corner Angulo can make it really tough for canelo to do what he wants here and he had weight issues to top it off. Angulo has a great chance to win this

I wouldnt say she was only saying that because they beat angulo - Angulo is no joke! James Kirkland is no joke! I think she said that out of experience - Angulo knows how to cut the ring off and he comes in shape and know he has been with hia new teainer for like 4 fighya now so everything should click. Not sure if cats on here remember but Virgil Hunter said before the Lara fight that we trained for punishment. He knew that in order to touch Lara he was going to have to go through hell and Angulo followed the game plan - this is what scares me about this fight - Angulo / Cotto / Mayweather follow the game plan and make it work - in Cotto's case some of the game plans where alittle suspect. But those 3 fighters know how to follow and stick with a game plan - Canelo might be in for a shock in this one
