Just what if, khans chin was say of margarito standard...where would he be now?

He'd have beaten Garcia and got the mayweather fight.
Maybe. It is impulsive to say he would be one of the most complete fighters in the sport, a true threat to Floyd, but I would still question his work ethic and ring generalship.

Let's flip the tables, if Maidana had Khan's speed, what then?

He would have beaten Danny Garcia for certain.

But that said it is impossible to consider Khan without that chin. The new trend is to say it is not that bad. It really is. It doesn't help that he gets caught so clean but we have seen him go down from all types of shots now. The writing was on the wall when Limond nearly stopped him.

He is still a top fighter but any world class puncher will have an opportunity to take him out over a fight that lasts 36 minutes.

I think his bigger problem is he seems to be punching with less authority recently.

most likely he'd still be exactly where he is now
he'd still be looking to get a title fight at WW
it wouldn't be a joke because the Diaz scare wouldn't have been there
I can't believe you removed the quote where larryx said bradley boxed mannys ears off, that was my favorite of your sig quotes.

Khan would have still lost that decision to Peterson with a granite chin. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a bad decision, even factoring in awful refereeing that cost Khan two points, but it still would have gone against him. Peterson didn't hurt Khan, or at least he didn't hurt him badly, he just got on the inside and worked where Khan couldn't.

Khan's flaws do not end with his chin. Defensively, Khan is awful and wide open for counter shots mid-combination. On the inside, he is utterly incapable, without a clue what to do. I seriously have to question Khan's ring intelligence as well - I'm yet to see Khan adapt mid-fight to problems and he always gets caught up in macho bull****, trying to please the crowd, but ultimately putting himself in the danger zone by hanging in the pocket throwing five/six punch combinations. - not smart when you don't take a punch that well. No doubt Virgil Hunter will be working on getting Khan a bit more ring savvy, but just like you can't put muscles on a chin, you can't expect a rock to soak up stuff like a sponge. I just doubt Khan is capable of learning at this point.

One thing is for sure, I'll always watch an Amir Khan fight. You are pretty much guaranteed entertainment. I'm a fan, and generally I hope he wins, but his flaws are too easy to notice. Khan would obviously be in a better position with a granite chin, but I wouldn't necessarily make him fantasy pound-for-pound.

He is weak at fighting on the inside and his defence is poor, so i dont think he would be much different than he is. He does somethings very well and somethings like he is still in the amateurs.
