I am of the belief Thurman has a better chance to beat Floyd than almost every boxer (Bradley is the exception) because of his versatility and ability to adjust. Hopefully he gets that one bout that will make him a known commodity.

Schaefer won't make that fight happen. He's trying to keep Khan safe from facing a legit tough opponent, while still trying to weasel his way to push for the Floyd fight without Khan earning it.Comment

Man, you're one of my favorite posters on here, but you're overrating the heck out of Thurman. Thurman is a good fighter, but he has very limited skills and looks very basic thus far. I'm impressed with his punching power and he tends to load up on every punch he throws, but as far as him being the only guy who has a better chance to beat Floyd than almost every boxer out there, i just don't see it yet.
If Floyd were to end up looking like a washed-up 37-year-old in the ring against Maidana, then maybe Thurman can pull it off, but I'm still not sold on him as a guy who can beat Floyd, let alone give him major problems. From 147 to 154, the only guys who still have the best chance of beating Floyd are, Lara, Pacquiao, Bradley(maybe), Garcia(maybe), and that's about it.Comment

Same here because a Promoter has his fighters bound by contract that the promoter choses the opponent, the site, and all other details. So it seems Schafer doesn't want to risk one of his own against another of his. And he has told lies that were verifiable as lies like saying Khan was going in a different direction than Broner which was obviously untrue and the time he said that no fighter or manager was present during Floyd/Canelo negotiations which is impossible by definition.Last edited by richardt; 03-07-2014, 08:17 PM.Comment
