  • Comments Thread For: The Last Run of Donovan George

Last summer, everything changed for Donovan George. Before marrying his girlfriend Aleksandra, the popular Chicago fighter was like a lot of his peers. What mattered was the next fight, not the day after, and if he didn’t leave that fight the way he went into it, that was a price he had accepted long ago.

“Before I got married, my attitude was ‘I don’t give a s**t, I’m gonna die in that ring,’” he said. “That’s where I want to be, that’s where I’m happy, so I’m willing to die in the ring. Now, I don’t want to die in the ring. I want to have a family, and I want to have a good life outside of boxing and after boxing. So I’m willing to do whatever it takes right now to give myself the best chance at having success in my career.”

George sounds like a likable guy and has a great attitude. Good luck to George in the future he showed a tremendous amount of heart against Adonis.

He's ok but not world class. He is very good at putting away bums and is tough and has a chin and guts but he's unfortunately nowhere near the top at 168.

George's fight is apparently off according to Matt paras, so none if this matters anyway. I bet he's done soon, if not already

You're from Chicago and not going to show support? I seen Don bust his ass day in and day out, sparring in the mornings and then working out again at night. Running 6 miles as a warm up and working out crazy without barely eating anything.

Don had a bad year in 2013 , Yes, he was trying to move down to 160 which obviously wasn't a good move. He didn't eat 5 days before Truax fight and was a shell of himself. Don't 4get Don was the only one to go 12 with Stevenson; Don will be back stronger and will knock out a MF to become world champ.

Maybe I am a bit biased because Im a huge fan of his and he is a local cat but to write him off is just wrong.
