Because fighters aren't truthful when talking to the media before a fight. Have you ever heard a fighter say "I'm having trouble making weight, this is gonna affect me tomorrow night"?

Exactly. Fighters are trying to sell the fight, their not going to say things like "making 145 is taking a toll on my body, I'm not going to be 100% come fight night". Millions of dollars are on the line.
