Miguel was in the ring with both so I believe what he is saying is fromt he heart he is a honest gentleman.

Of Course the Pac fight was harder and Miguel knows that, but he is saying he didn't feel his best when put under pressure against Pac, and that he didn't have the energy reserves.
Miguel might have felt amazing leading up to the Pac fight but when under the conditions of such a big fight you cant replicate that in training.

He was in wonderful shape against Floyd, and he feels if he felt the same against Pac the Pac fight might have taken a different course where he wasn't stopped on his feet.

Could that possibly be because they were both promoted by Arum at the time and Cotto just did what he was told? For ****'s sake, Arum made Miguel put HIS title on the line for a catchweight fight that heavily favored Pac. When he parted ways with Arum, sure enough he admitted that making 145 was a "sacrifice".

I love Miguel, but also when you didn't have the best performance you want to try, not make excuses exactly, but paint a picture so historically it wont look so bad on you.

Miguel wouldn't want historically people to think Pac was so much better than him.

I saw the interview (ESPN A los Golpes). Miguel was talking in a technical aspect, not on a war type fight. He did state that the weight made a diference but he dis not say that he would had won without it.

Dudes here taking chit out of context to support their agenda. *** you clowns! *** the haters!

                  War Cotto!

I think what he said makes perfect sense. People think "hardest" always means the fight they got beat up in the most or something. Those are not always the same thing. Anyone who reads Ring Magazine, the articles about "best I've faced", usually it is not the person you think it will be. I think the difference was actual technical ability and skill. Make no mistake, Manny beat Cotto up for sure, respect. But technically, Cotto is better than Manny, as are most of Manny's opponents. Anyone who is not biased and knows boxing realizes there is a vast difference in actual technical boxing skill between Manny and Floyd. Overwhelming someone with speed and angles/power does not necessarily mean you are an amazing boxer. Personal example, my old muay thai instructor fought a guy who was nowhere near as skilled as he was and he lost to the guy though, because the guy just came out like a beast and he could not regroup or adjust enough, etc. Technically though, the guy was mediocre at best. I think what Cotto means is that Floyd's skill, technique and ability to adjust are the best in the game (or in his career).

It did have an affect, but let's kid ourselves and act like that's the only reason he lost. Pacquiao was simply better than him.
