Fast rising Cuban prospect Yunier Dorticos improved his record to 16-0 with 16 knockouts this past Saturday when he dispatched of the previously undefeated Hamilton Ventura (13-1-1) in the first round of their fight that took place in San Diego, California. Dorticos picked up the interim WBC Latino and WBA Fedelatin cruiserweight titles in the process.

With the win, Dorticos will now be ranked in the top 15 of both the WBC and the WBA, and will be in line to fight for a title soon. Louis Fonseca, Vice President of Dorticos' promoter Caribe Promotions, also pointed out that his fighter made a big leap in the rankings on website boxrec.com.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Dirticos. His record looks shiny, but I've seen very limited footage of him. He's definitely an action-fighter, though. lol

I know. Guys knock out a pile of journeymen and think they're ready for the big-time. Yunier needs to take it slow. He looks interesting so far, but we know what can happen when a prospect steps up.

Easy tiger! What is the rush?

Damn we've got champions and top contenders not fighting each other and boat loads of prospects being pushed way too soon.
This guy has been past 2 rounds just twice & past 4 only once.
