  • Comments Thread For: Canelo: The Plan is Still For Three Fights in 2014

Yesterday, BoxingScene.com and other members of the media spoke to former WBC/WBA junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez who is just days away from his pay-per-view showdown against Alfredo Angulo.

When Canelo was last in the ring, he suffered his first career loss when he faced Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the largest grossing pay-per-view event in boxing history. Even though the loss technically was a majority decision loss, in reality it wasn't that close. He said that he learned a lot from the fight and that he is very eager to get back in the ring.

He better avoid as much punishment as possible this weekend, if he gets in a brawl, I doubt he fights 3 times this year.

      sad..

It's actually getting pretty sad on how GBP is thinking Mexican fans are idiot! I really thought PPV stars were made fighting the best, beating the best! With hard work! Yet they get this popular Mexican, who's got some skills.. and after a lop sided beating, not even close.. they're making him a PPV star? vs another somewhat popular Mexican. I think it will do good.. just cause it's Mexicans!

But then again they're just trying to take a page out of the Bobfather and the Foney.. Fight ****ty fights and just hype them up and have people eat up your bs.. and you'll still get paid!

On that note... I'm still watching this Saturday! ha ha! It better be good!

Agree. Interesting fight but not buying out of principle. This bum got the first belt as a gift from WBC and made a living defending it against lower weight fighters.

I think Canelo has proven he's quite good at avoiding taking punishment. He'll even throw a fight if he thinks he might get hit cleanly. Look how he ran from Mayweather!

Will Lara be one of the two remaining opponents? I highly doubt it.

3 fights for 3 PPVs. I feel sorry for the buyers... or maybe I don't

he had said in another interview that he wouldn't fight in july if he were to get cut in this fight or i'm guessing hurt in any way
