I don't think so. They have to fight within a certain number of days from when the mandatory is called.

And this is the guy Amir Khan was ducking

"this year is gonna be my year" (since 2010).

This guy has never been in a world title fight let alone win one, but apparently Khan loses to him. Hes depserate to fight Khan to cash out on him because lets be serious he aint winning no strap at 147 nor 154.

Brook just doesn't seem willing to face any adversity while demanding preferential treatment. I can understand his attitude, he knows there are monsters waiting, so he wants an easy title run, a title shot at home and, if he doesn't get KO'd, hold the title hostage in the UK. I'm not saying it can't be done, there are just a lot of unknowns, maybes and ifs in that approach.

I'm a fan of Bellew but its usually for the smack he talks outside of the ring, recently he has disappointed in it. However I think cruiser-weight would really favour him, he's looked really weak and skinny at light-heavy, I think this will be more of a natural fit and if he can put on the right muscle I can see him winning this by KO.

Like it or not Kell Brook is a cashcow. Any fighter out there wants to maximise reward and minimise risk. The 'preferential' treatment is entirely due to the attention he has been able to draw. Nothing undeserved, he signed up to a good team, he excited in the ring, he gets protected.

                Zero boxing knowledge.

                Khan ducking him for years.
                Bradley/Pacquiao - in progress.
                Maidana-Mayweather - in progress.

Brook was going to fight Alexander however pulled out twice due to being injured.

Brook's ready to fight anyone anywhere and he'll fight Porter anytime soon.

                So what's the problem?

It's not his fault that nowadays boxing is full of fake champions and pussies like those Canelo Alvarez Triple Duck Klischko brothers etc.

The people on here saying about him having a guaranteed title shot next fight are right, and a keep busy fight is no bad thing. The thing is tho, Brook has fought absolutely no one worth mentioning in 30+ fights... If he ever does fight a world class opponent he will get badly exposed, Porter will expose him badly imo. Why did he turn down two Mike Jones fights years ago too??!

Well Porter hadn't exactly fought anyone prior to Alexander. His best win was Julio Diaz who arguably beat him in the first fight. It's not like Porter is some seasoned, long reigning champion. He's the kind of step up that Brook should be comfortable with now.
