If you were a top prospect would you respect a guy who holds you career in his hands if he let you dictate and tell him how he should do his job... There is no "Boss" between manager and fighter, its a partnership. And who pays the manager? The fighter.
Who is the boss? The fighter.
The manager looks out for the fighter, protects him and is suppose to get him as much money as he can get for him without matching him in a tough fight. Thats a managers job! But!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!........
.............The boss(the fighter) can always say make the fight regardless of the managers opinion. Thats a fact!
But, if you have a good manager and he getting you paid well for lesser fighters, than i too would allow the manager to do his job. I get to have a longer career and my bank account grows.
The manager is there cause he supposed to know the ins and outs but to say the manager calls the shots against what the fighter says, i don't belive that.Comment

I only buy Rios' logic to a certain extent. At his & Provo's level...yes. When you're on megastar level though, this same logic doesn't apply. For example, if you owe the bank $100,000, then the bank owns you. But if you owe the bank $100,000,000, then you own the bank (bc they'll do anything to make sure you pay them back). May & Pac would happen in a heartbeat if they both kept calling for the fight and telling the public to demand it. PAC always says whatever bob wants him to say bc he's a lemming, and Floyd always gets angry when the PAC question comes up and says he's focusing on his current fight. Both could make the fight by simply pushing their managers to do itComment

You're missing my point. If a fighter really wants to fight fighter B than he gives the green light to his manager to make the fight, doesn't mean opponet A's manager is going to agree to make the fight, unless manager A's fighter says to make the fight. A manager is always supposed to look out for the best interest in his fighter and not his own percentage.
If i was a fighter and my manager was getting me paid well and i was winning, i'd have no problems in how he's doing his job. But, If i get baited into fighting fighter B by all his fans and the fighter than, i talk with my manager and tell him i want him to make the fight. Sure he'll tell me the pro's and con's and how much money he is making for me by chosing who i fight, but i want a challenge. Whether he changes my mind or i still go after opponet B will be up to him to change my mind, other wise, when i want to call the shots, i call the shots.Comment

Its funny how Ellie was trying to discredit Provo like that to get Rios's acknowledgement, but then Rios just shuts him up by completely disagreeing with him and calling Provo a warrior. Ellie really does try to suck up to everyone in the Garcia camp.Comment

Oh, you mean like the Margarito Mayweather fight happened when both were with Top Rank?
