Comments Thread For: Photos: Sergey Kovalev Putting in Hard Work For Agnew

WBO light heavyweight world champion Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev (23-0-1, 21KOs) was training hard with coach John David Jackson at the Iron Mike Productions Gym in Florida, as he prepares for his upcoming HBO televised title defense against undefeated challenger Cedric Agnew (26-0, 13KOs) on March 29th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Kovalev is hoping that he defeats Agnew and then moves forward in a unification fight against WBC champion Adonis Stevenson of Canada.

John: just keep Sergey from getting too eager and you guys will get there. Great team. Stick together, you two are going far.

          Doesn't look special.

I like how Kovalev doesn't look like anything special.

Some fighters just know how to punch and have that natural reflex and ability. You just can't teach it.

This is a popular drill in Europe, using the tennis ball, it improves your footwork, reflexes, hand speed and accuracy.

Crazy Kovalev has so much power considering he doesn't look that big and has an awkward body. He also looks much older than 30. I think the end is near for Kovalev. He had a nice little run but no way he'll beat both Stevenson and Pascal.

... Now compare him with Lomachenko -- in terms of aesthetics vs efficiency...

A lead pipe hurts more than painted aluminum or plastic.
