Comments Thread For: Luis Collazo Inks Agreement, Joins Up With Al Haymon

Brooklyn, NY - WBA International Welterweight Champion Luis Collazo has signed on with influential adviser Al Haymon following his thrilling Jan. 30 knockout victory at Barclays Center over former WBC Welterweight World Champion. Victor Ortiz.

"I'm excited to be joining Team Haymon," said Collazo. "I'm looking forward to the doors this opportunity is going to open for me. I can't wait to get this partnership going."

A proud native of Brooklyn, Collazo (35-5 18 KOs) held the WBA Welterweight World Championship from 2005-06. Collazo has won four straight fights, including his second round knockout over Ortiz. Three of those victories took place at Barclays Center, making Collazo one of the arena's staple fighters. The FOX Sports 1 telecast of the Ortiz vs. Collazo fight was the highest rated boxing event on the franchise to date.

Haymon must be gearing up to start his own promotional company because he's seems to be taking on too many fighters

I'm really looking forward to the three GB cards that ShowTime will have in late April early May. So many interesting possible matchup.

I'm thinking we will see Collazo fight Malignaggi.

Louis Collazo is a Haymon guy. But seriously this man has boxing on lock.
