Did the Catchweight Affect Canelo during the Mayweather Fight?

when the canelo-mayweather fight was being promoted, dela hoya justified the catchweight by saying that canelo will be faster than usual. but on fight night, this so called speed was no where to be seen. he even ran out of gas, allowing mayweather to bully him by the ropes. maybe coz canelo wasn't used to the weight.

SRL said by agreeing to mayweather's catchweight condition, that already gave him the psychological edge even before the first bell rang.

Yea it bothered him but had the fight been at his natural weight, the same result would have occured. He just wasn't ready for Floyd and most likely never will be.

It made all the difference in the world and anyone who disagrees is a flaming Flomosexual.

Canelo needed a wheelchair on his way to the ring on fight night.

In fact, the original offer was that Canelo would have to be 154 for the weigh in, but had to show up at 147 on fight night. But the deal didn't go through.

Maybe but the fight was so dominant that it's hard to imagine Canelo doing much better , even without the catchweight

I don't think Canelo would have been good enough for FMJ anyway. FMJ was too fast and had the superior ring IQ. Canelo just wasn't good enough at this stage.

He weighed in at 153.5lb... 1.5 (1 and a half) lbs more for Trout and weighed 172lbs on fight night.

He outweighed Floyd by 15lbs on fight night.

                  The difference?

No..........the same outcome regardless the weight. This is'nt the pacquiao affect. The guys he fought were old and not at their best when he weight drained them. Alvarez is barely 23 years old
