We all saw what happened last night. Despite Lomachenko being the more skilled boxer than Salido, the inexperience just collapsed on him. His pops has done a great job with him as far as developing his son as an athlete and as a legendary amateur boxer. But to grow into an experienced professional fighter, he needs to get the help of an experienced professional trainer to get him to that level. What professional trainer do ya'll think would fit into Loma's style?
Would Lomachenko Do Better With a Different Trainer?

Hate to say it but the obvious choice would be Roach. His pops was telling him the right things though, i.e be more active, and that's really all Lomo needed to do cos when he stepped it up, Salido couldn't hang. -
Lomachenko has good conditioning however it's his inactivity which caused him to lose the fight. He seems to be a low output puncher but very subtle with his shots. The trainer I think would suit him would be Roach though It would heavily cost him defensively, Lomachenkos offensive ability would be far greater and he wouldn't need to hold as much. He can move and slip punches effectively given that he learns how to utilize his speed within these moments Lomachenko can swarm his opponents with ease.Comment

I don't think Lomachenko is damaged goods just yet... He lost a split decision in a World Championship fight...
I honestly thought Vasyl was going to get the decision, if for no other reason than to follow the money.... His earnings potential for everyone associated with him has a much greater threshold than Salido does.... But I guess the judges didn't get the memo and the referee certainly didn't get that memo......
The truth is, the decision could of gone either way.... But the Champion usually has earned the right to get the nod in close decisions....
To your question.... I thought he was to inexperienced to fight for the title so soon, turned out to be largely true.... He needs to wake up from his amateur super success driven delusions of grandeur and find a top pro trainer to break him in correctly.... I think he realizes his position now.....
As far as the fight goes.... I was disappointed in his performance.... He should've owned those early rounds, but he was to tentative and it cost him the fight..... If he has the confidence in his lungs in the way he told us he had, then he should've blasted away from the start.... Anyway, he's still got the talent.... It's just going to take him longer then he thought it would....Comment

Yeah. Lomachenko was kicking Salido's ass in the last rounds of the fight. But he should've known that Salido doesn't stop. How many times did Salido get dropped by Yuriorkis Gamboa (who's a little bull), only to come back, and get his shot in? When he had Salido cringing in the last round, I was thinking that Loma had some pop, he just used it too late.
All of the things that Salido did to win was classic "professional" shit. He didn't bother to cut weight... He lowblowed... He tried to use his head a lot... There isn't a fighter right now on the P4P list that doesn't get his hands a little dirty! Floyd likes to use his elbows. Andre likes to use his head (in headbutting). Even Rigondeaux having similar amateur credentials fights underhanded a lil bit (he LOVES pulling the head). Loma has to learn these things. And a pro trainer would fit him in that mold to prepare for thing like that.
I hate to say it too, but yep... Freddie Roach would be a good fit for him. He's doing a pretty decent job with Powerpuff Shiming, so he can probably do the same with Lomachenko.Comment
