The mentioning of Floyd should end this thread lol.
Anthony Mundine is another example.
Of course! How could I forget that one?
For those that never knew, Tony Mundine was a top middleweight in the great Carlos Monzon era. Had about 100 fights, losing about 10, and fought the best.
His only title fight was against a prime Monzon unfortunately. But he also fought and beat Emile Griffith, Antonio Aguilar, Denny Moyer, while his most notable losses were to Monzon, Bennie Briscoe and Luis Manuel Rodriguez.
Not too bad, and I suppose it could be considered that Anthony Mundine topped his dad. Certainly in the mainstream sense.
How the fck can anyone compare being the son of Floyd Mayweather Sr to being the son of Julio Cesar fucking Chavez, arguably the greatest Mexican fighter of all time!!
Chavez Jr gets hated on here by jealous nobodies who would love to be in his position but there's not a single son of a legend in Boxing(mens) who has achieved what Chavez Jr has achieved.
I'd hazard a guess that his dad must be from his point of view the most proud dad in the world, knowing how extra difficult it must have been for Chavez Jr to be the son of such a legend and still manage to achieve what he has achieved.
