Chavez has a better chance at winning at 168. By fight night he would blow up to cruiserweight. And would be the much bigger guy. With that said, I think it will be a much harder fight for GGG than most think. Chavez is a rugged guy with decent boxing skills and a good chin..

Golovkin took 8 rounds to beat Stevens and Adama. You really think he gets a potential fight night cruiserweight out of there in that time? I'm not so sure.

If I were Golovkin's team I wouldn't take a fight the Chavez if the fight was in Texas.
The commission in Texas is horrendous and the referees and judge's are poorly trained and they don't know how to do there jobs properly. Texas has nothing but bad decisions and bad fights. Anywhere else in the world Golovkin would destroy Chavez jr.
I don't think Golovkin should take the fight at all at 168lbs.

I think GGG wins by KO but this is still an interesting fight when I think about it.

GGG is great at coming forward but very average when a guy stands his ground or fighting going backwards. GGG's defense is his offense, I've seen him get hit a few times where you could tell it bothered him, even happened against Adama. Chavez is probably the biggest puncher he's faced as well as the toughest.

The more I think about it I think this is a pretty competitive fight, and GGG doesn't steam roll him like I originally thought.

Steven's probably hits harder than Jr.

I think Stevens hits quite a bit harder than Chavez. He crushes bums, Chavez usually goes the distance

Chavez would get killed. He may last the 12 at 168 just because of his size, but he'd get ruined in the process. At 160 he gets stopped.

Chavez will win by decision. Golovkin is too hardhitting to KO, but Golovkin is not used to fighting at elite level and Chavez would win with experience. If Golovkin wins this match, you can all kick me.

Gennady Golovkin would win via UD. Chavez Jr has the ultimate chin and of course Gennady has beastly power however I see it playing out similar to Margarito v Pacquiao. Yes there's a difference in style but the smaller guy with the heavier hands and more versatility would remain dominant and Chavez Jr would constantly come forward for more trying to prove something and end up with something broken.
