What I'm saying is GGG at least on paper appears to be a tougher fight for Chavez than a fight against Abraham. Chavez needs to get his fan base back, and he's not going to do that if he loses his next bout. Not to mention Abraham has a belt at 68 now, and Chavez would want to go after the belts.

Please... Did you see Froch in his last fight? Dude is finished, and Groves would get washed. GGG has a better chance than either he's just a little small for Jr so it's a toss up..

I understand what you're trying to say, but I don't necessarily agree with it. In a division where there is an established, unquestioned champion like Ward. The belts don't really mean anything. So GGG basing his choice of opponent on who has belts is pretty much pointless. If he's ready to dip his toe in at 68, Jr is a bigger draw and better fighter than AA at this point. And they probably would be able to sell that one on PPV. I wouldn't order it. But I think that one would have a chance to do between 300k-400k buys.

Yes glad you cleared that up I thought you were insinuating that Jr was scared off GGG or something, If he fought Martinez no way he's scared of GGG, even said he'd like to fight him next in English when asked last night. Haven't seen AA fight in a while but GGG has been very active so probably would be the tougher fight of the 2. What's unique is that all 3 have the power to end a fight with 1 punch. I think Jr doesn't get as many KO's because of those long arms he has to throw looping shots while AA and GGG can throw straight punches..

That's the thing. I like GGG, but anyone with any kind of sense knows he's not ready to take on the big dawgs at 168. It's like Ward going to 175. They both look great at their natural weight, but nobody knows for sure how they would perform out of their comfort zone. If anything GGG can make 154 easier than 168.

That's what makes guys like Floyd and Pacquiao two of the GOAT because they have performed at multiple weights far above their comfort zones. Ward, he's a good fighter but If he's going to stay at 168 his whole career in this generation then hard for me to say he's HOF material.

Right! redeemed himself vs a club fighter...jr needs a prueba bout, mayb vs Froch...he's FAR from elite & his name only gets him these bouts...good win 4 Salido, a late bloomer, exciting, & fans should follow him, he give's his all vs any1...

Martinez-Cotto isn't until June. GGG needs somebody to fight this summer. None of the beltholders are gonna fight him then. And there's no guarantee he gets the Martinez-Cotto winner this year. If Martinez wins, he's probably gonna make his mandatory with Rubio and then target Canelo. If Cotto wins, he probably gets a Floyd rematch. And if not, he'll target Ginger. GGG needs a credible opponent and Jr fits the bill.

Ward comfortably beats anybody at 75 and GGG beats everybody at 68 but Ward.

I think Canelo has several fights as a"pro" that aren't recognized by everyone as well.

                    • To me, it seems like a lot of GGG's fans don't wanna know if the hype is real nd are perfectly content watching him beat the **** outta tomato cans, talking about how great he is, and b1tchin' about everybody's scared to fight him. I mean seriously, ya'll should be salivating at the thought of a Chavez Jr fight. He's a big name, he's allergic to defense, and he has a good fanbase and gets mainstream attention. Not only that, he's not even in GGG's league in terms of skill. Jr is the perfect opponent to make his PPV debut against. And chances are, he gets a highlight reel KO. But the fact that Jr has some skill, has a size advantage, can punch, and has a good enough chin that he probably won't be just blown out by GGG scares his fans ****less.
