Comments Thread For: Crawford Turns Back Ricky Burns, Captures WBO Crown

Scottish Exhibition Centre, Glasgow, Scotland - Terence Crawford (23-0, 16KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Ricky Burns (36-3-1, 11KOs) to capture the the WBO lightweight title. The scores were 116-112, 117-111, 116-112.

Burns opened up with a fast jab, but Crawford was just as fast with countershots. It was a chess match with the passing rounds. The crowd was going wild every time Burns landed anything of note. Crawford landed some telling blows in the fourth, with Burns fighting his way off the ropes. Crawford continue to press Burns against the ropes in the fifth looking for something big, but he was unable to do any serious damage.

One hell of a performance. Never fought a 12 rounder before and when he does goes to the champ's country and takes his world crown. This guy definitely is the next big thing or atleast has the potential to be.

Good win for Crawford after starting out a little slow. He not Adrian Broner is the best young American fighter. If he were on Golden Boy he'd be on the Ring p4p list.
