Great fighter beating 40+ cab drivers in indonesia makes you a great fighter???? Maybe he could of been great if he actually put some hall of famers in he's resume.

He did beat one hall of famer. Oh yeah I forgot he got a hometown decision in that one.

Severe bastardization of the word "great."

You are full of crap. Even a number of JMM fans have said that fight was closer than the scorecards but John won so get over it.

Ricardo Lopez would fall in that category because he never fought one great fighter, unlike John who fought and beat one and all Ricardo Lopez had to do was eat on pancake and fight Michael Carbajal and he refused to go up and dare to be great.

John simply wasn't great. He was a good fighter, who has a win at home against a fighter who would eventually be considered great. He avoided or was avoided by other top fighters and spent seven years fighting a forgettable collection of opponents before getting KO'd by a blown up bantamweight. A "great" fighter, IMO, would have taken on top5 featherweights or moved up to challenge for another title over those seven years. Like JMM did. JMM proved himself to be a great fighter after fighting John. John didn't

When did I say he was a great fighter??? You need to check your reading comprehension. Doesn't mean he isn't a solid fighter and now a champ and a worthy fight for Donaire.
