This kid looks to be the real deal.

So much for the notion of boring Cuban fighters.

"Traditional Cuban fighters"? The traditional Cuban fighters have always been great boxer-punchers, very exciting...guys like Kid Chocolate, Kid Gavilan, Jose Napoles, "Sugar" Ramos. These men didn't know what it was like to be in a boring fight. All of the current guys were brought up in the amateur system and some haven't completely shed that style.

Anyway...Dorticos obviously brings the pain. I've only seen some footage of him. I hope he turns out to be as good as his record. As it is, I like his attitude. Too bad Yuniel fights at cruiser. Despite what they're saying, cruiserweight just doesn't appeal to the American public. "The KO Doctor" (lol at the nickname) might have to try Europe, where the division is much more appreciated.

              lol

Everything seems to be a mess with this kid's name. The heading says "Yuniel"; his name is Yunier. Let's see what he looks like against a guy with a decent looking record.

Man, I remember hearing something like this from a very sound voice recently

I guess the whole "traditional Cuban" reference will be used by media to contrast current Cubans. They don't expect this current crop of fans to actually pay attention to traditional Cuban boxing history.

Sad but true. There is little doubt that there i$ an influence brought to the attention of these supposed writers by main stream promoters.
