Will fight for a title against Orlando Salido! seriously this is an embarrassment to Russell Jr. dude still fighting scrubs. While Lomachenko is fighting a beast and a legit champion in his 2nd pro fight.

And we know why now. Russell Jr. is a free agent, he's not promoted by Golden Boy or Top Rank, which is a big mistake imo. It's only smart to become a free agent once you're a Cotto, or a Mayweather, otherwise no promoter will want their champs fighting him.

But fighters with smaller promoters get fights.

A disappointing career so far for Russell. I was and still am a fan but have lost interest in his fights.

thats primarily because rosado is a gatekeeper. russell isnt. hes definitely one of the most talented guys in the lower divisions. high risk little to no reward. but hes been grossly mis managed.

NATAS made a REALLY good point that I myself hadn't really considered. That is the problem of being a free agent, you won't get these special opportunities and type of backing that you can only get by being under contract. It's part of the privileges of being loyal to a company (getting the best opportunities possible that is).

It's his own own fault. He shouldn't have backed out of eliminators with Franco and Ponce.
