Geale beat sturm and a few other contenders so IMO he should be the current number one contender

The ring has ggg number one but both Geale and especially sturm have better resumes. I don't agree with them. I would have him no higher than 2. Wins over Macklin, proska, and Stevens aren't up there with what sturm had done but geale beat sturm. He beats one of them impressively then he is clearly the number one contender
Both Geale and Sturm have been beaten in the time that Golovkin has been campaigning at a high level, Sturm was the number one ranked fighter at 160 (with Martinez as champ) before questionable wins over Macklin and Murray and beaten by Geale!

And Sturm and Geale have blatantly avoided Golovkin, so your point is an invalid one!

It's too bad Geale turned down April 26th against GGG but i think he'll fight him after that.
Yeah, we keep saying that and Geale keeps turning it down.

Sturm wants no part of GGG. That's a fact.

Sturm paid the WBA to become Super-Champion a few years back to avoid a fight against mandatory challenger Golovkin.

Golovkin's last two fights were on the German TV powerhouse SAT.1. They're also showing every Sturm fight since a few years (and the ratings are getting poorer and poorer by the way). K2 said that they are willing to fight Sturm in Germany at his backyard (Cologne). They offered him a title shot before the Barker fight = no response from Team Sturm.

SAT.1 ist also hyping GGG and always brings up a possible fight against Sturm during the broadcast of GGG's fight. But when Sturm fights nobody even mentions GGG. Once upon a time former HW Axel Schulz was a little bit harsh on Sturm's performance against Macklin during the broadcast - guess what? He was fired afterwards...

A few years back Sturm said that GGG has no name. He's a nobody. He is not willing to fight a nobody. But since GGG is knocking out guys cold on HBO Sturm is really quite. He doesn't even mention GGG even the media is all over a Sturm vs. GGG fight. It's like he doesn't allows questions regarding that fight. He never gets asked about a possible fight against GGG. He simply doesn't want it.

And if you believe Ahmet Öner GGG brutalized Sturm in sparring like 5 to 7 years ago. Since that day Sturm never sparred him again and paid the WBA off for the Super-Champion title. True story.

This fight will NEVER happen. Sturm avoided all good fighter. Trinidad offerend him good money. Sturm turned the fight down. Taylor offered him 750.000$ after the De la Hoya fight. Sturm turned the fight down. Abraham offerend him close to 3 million dollars. Sturm turned the fight down. He also turned down Quillin, Stieglitz and Martinez. I don't know if there was even an offer from the Martinez' camp but when Sturm was asked about Martinez on German television he always sais things like "His name is not big enough", "I don't have to fight in the USA, I'm the #1 attraction at middle" or simply "He's not that good, I've beaten De la Hoya, I'm #1" and things like that...

Sturm's name should never be brought up again.

dude where you been the last few years, both of those fighters have avoided GGG. Geale at least called him out after his last fight. Sturm is probably the biggest ducker of our generation, following the footsteps of Ottke. He avoided Abraham after being offered 1.5 euros, sturm went on and fought AA leftovers. He then hid behind the sanctioning body to avoid fighting his mandatory GGG. He never wants to leave germany, he is still butt hurt about the dlh loss but at least fight in europe.
