  • Pauli Malignaggi and....

Marcos Maidana seem to be praised higher then Amir Khan on this board. Funny thing is he has beaten them both? And he also beat them both pretty handedly aside from 1 rough Round or so with Maidana.

Can someone explain to Me why that is? Maybe this can help you clear your vision.

Because people look at "What have you done lately"

Khan has is 2-2 in his last 4 fights and looked like crap in them.

After the Khan Fight Pauli is 6-1 and some people think he beat broner and that streak should be 7-0.

Maidana is 4-0 since the Alexander fight and has looked good in everyone of them.

Because both went on to do greater things in boxing, both went on to win titles at 147 while Khan went on to get ko'd and floored 5 times in 3 fights and even managed to get floored by Julio ****ing Duaz..maybe that will help clear your vision

Ali is praised more than Holmes, Spinks, Frazier and Trevor Berbick. Tyson is praised more than Buster Douglass. Praise comes from an overall body of work, not just one fight.

Good points. I didn't know Pauli has been on a terror lately. He did get what some people thought was a gift decision in his 1st title defense and I felt he lost the Broner fight close. He should probably be more like 5-2, but 6-1 can also stand.

In regards to Maidana, IMO he didn't look great and was hurt against Lopez. And although he beat Broner handedly, he still had some gaping holes in which Broner was able to hurt Maidana on a few occassions.

I see your guys points, but you also see mine.

They're all on the same playing field. Don't build a guy up when Khan already put them down.

And you guys want to judge on "the body of work"

              Khan 3 losses
              Maidana 3 losses.
              Malignaggi 7 losses? 8 losses?

You guys really have that "what have you done for Me lately" wound up tight in your heads.

Khan is 2 and 2 in 4, yes he looked "bad" in his last 2 fights.

But you can say he should have beaten Peterson and got shafted there. Peterson is a champion. Garcia is going on to be one of the great champions of current time. And the other two fights are wins, regardless. And he destroyed Molina.

So Larry, maybe this will help clear your vision.

its not just the number of losses-but who you lost to, when you lost, and what have you done since the loss. Think about it in these terms:

Maidana did better in his "audition" than khan did even though Khan has more acting credits and awards on the back of his photo

Any boxing fan in his right frame of mind knows that Khan was Robbed against Peterson..He won that fight atleast by 2 points (Yes even with 2 Points Deductions against Khan,Khan won that Fight) He dropped Peterson twice and had that fight been anyone in the world but DC Khan would have come out as the Winner..(I give Khan lot of Credit for facing Peterson in his hometown although Khan was the champ that time) Also not to Mention Peterson was Juiced Up with High Levels of Testosterones Lol people keep forgetting that Khan was supposed to have a rematch with Peterson and had trained for months for that fight but that fight was cancelled cause Peterson was tested positive and then Khan signed Garcia fight in no time and wasn't really prepared for his style.. Khan is a excellent Boxer a Olympic Silver Medalist & won World Title at very young age plus an Excellent Amateur Record with a KO victory over Victor Ortiz. He is going through a tough time but I believe he'll come back Strong in his next fight.
