Comments Thread For: Orlando Salido Not Offended Vasyl Lomachenko is Favored

An unfazed Orlando Salido is taking the same calm, professional approach to his fight Saturday night against unproven favorite Vasyl Lomachenko that he has taken throughout his 18-year pro career.

The 26-year-old Lomachenko, a two-time Olympic gold medalist from Ukraine, is a 6-1 favorite over Salido (40-12-2, 28 KOs, 1 NC), despite that he has just one professional fight on his record. Mexico’s Salido, 33, is a three-time world champion who’ll defend his WBO featherweight title in their scheduled 12-rounder at Alamodome in San Antonio. [Click Here To Read More]

Well we're going to find out if Lomachenko is the real deal, because he has a very real opponent in front of him.

It is unbelievable how keeps being an underdog despite of his accomplishments. It's like no matter who he beats or what he does, he is always the underdog. Even Lomachenko got a little special on HBO yet Salido has never had such a thing.

        WAR SIRIII!!!! Crush that kid!

Loma is a 6-1 favorite? I can see why he's favored, but those odds are far too wide. Salido is a battle tested vet and just the type who can break a guy down over the rounds. Lomachenko seems to have superior skill and speed, but who knows how he'll react when a hard man like Salido keeps coming at him past distances he's never fought.

Salido should be flattered he's in a ring with a future ATG.

I'm a big fan of Salido, but I think Lomachenko is the real deal and I got him winning this fight

Flattered? I think Salido is going into the fight confident that he will take Lomo's best shots and will wear him down and then dominate the last few rounds.

Now I think that Lomo will win this fight - but I can be dead wrong. Top pros like Salido can take much more punishment than Lomo has ever dished out. 12 rounds is way different than 3 or 4. The mental energy required over 12 rounds is way different. And Salido will bring it.

Unless Lomo has punching power to give real pause to Salido this will be a test of Lomo's will.

I think Lomo will pass the test - but we'll see.
