Completely agree. People nowadays consider Hopkins a clincher and a dirty fighter, but he did that due mostly to age and having to adapt to fight these young guns. I don't care how good people tell me Ward is, he could never pull off a Hopkins-Trinidad type of performance without breaking compu-clinch stats and trying to ram his head in every round. Hopkins was silky smooth in that fight.Comment

Also young hopkins knocked people out and he's a good **** talker.Right now it's ward since he is 2 decades younger,, but Hopkins was a better all around fighter in his day, then ward has ever been...
Ward doesn't have to movement and jab that Hopkins possesses,,, everything else is close, Hopkins just has more versatile arsenalComment

i think the obvious answer is bhop but i have to give the edge to ward. i think when all is said and done ward will be considered the better fighter but b hop is the manComment

Same here, big Ward supporter as well but he didn't have Hopkins' sneaky right hand, trickery, two handed attack on the inside, feints or footwork. I'm gonna keep repeating it till people get it, Ward's inside game is based off of tying up his opponent's arm and working with the other. Hopkins could do that as well but he was great at mixing it up in close without having to hold, Ward hasn't shown me that.Completely agree. Stylistically they are similar boxers, but I think it's fair to say that Andre has the better skills, speed and athleticism
Bernard has the better boxing IQ, he's craftier and is willing to do things that Ward isn't..
But that's from experience, don't forget Ward had a wealth of amateur experience, olympic gold medal etc.. BHop hadn't much amateur credentials and spent his youth in prison..
The way I see it Ward has the boxing ability, Hopkins has the Ring smarts and intangibles!Comment
